Canned

Horizon Fisheries offers an excellent quality of tuna in two piece TFS lacquered cans with plain and Easy Open Ends (EOE) in various styles like solid, chunks and flakes in different medias such as brine, spring water, sunflower oil, vegetable oil, soya bean oil, olive oil or other flavored or infused oils.

The raw material for canned tuna is carefully selected, butchered, pre-cooked, cleaned to remove skin, dark meat & bones, packed in cans with oil or brine, hermetically sealed and heat processed by the application of saturated steam to attain commercial sterility. Quality & safety of the product is ensured at every stage in the process by HACCP system.

Pouch

Tuna in hermetically sealed flexible retort pouch serves the same purpose of canned tuna. Pouches are very convenient to handle and are available in different sizes; 500g, 1KG, 3KG & 3.1KG

Cooked & cleaned tuna loins are filled in retort pouch with ingredients such as brine and oil, vacuum sealed and heat processed to achieve commercial sterility. The product is intended to be consumed without further cooking or processing and can be stored at room temperature. We produce them in brine and various oils such as soybean, sunflower and olive oil.

Frozen

Freshly caught pole and line tuna is frozen whole and stored in our state-of-the-art cold storage. Strict Quality Control procedures are followed to ensure the quality of frozen fish for export and when processing.

Species: Skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis) and Yellow fin tuna (Thunnus albacares)

Chilled

Vacuum packed chilled tuna loins are prepared from locally caught Yellow fin tuna

(Thunnus albacares) and Big eye tuna (Thunnus obesus). The raw material is gilled, gutted and chilled immediately after catch.

Gilled & gutted tuna is butchered to remove head, bones, fins and belly portions. Loins are separated, trimmed to remove dark meat, skinned, cleaned, and vacuum sealed in LDPE pouches, packed in insulated Styrofoam boxes with gel ice and stored at 0°C.

Fish

Fish meal is a by-product manufactured from fish wastes of cannery. Fish meal is a good fertilizer and serves to be an essential ingredient in poultry and fish feed.
